Beginning Band is open to all 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. No music experience required!
Step 1: Please start by submitting the "Band Sign-up" form before Band Information Night
Step 2: Attend Band Parent Night on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.
If you cannot attend Band Information Night, please notify Mr. Bingen so that he can make sure you have all of the necessary information.
The fee to participate in band is $350 per year.

First week of Beginning Band is September 14-18 (please see chart below for which day your child comes).
Before the first week of band, please complete the following:
Decide which instrument your child wants to play, based on the in-class demonstrations or discussions with Mr. Bingen directly
Obtain an instrument for your child in one of the following ways:
Rent an instrument from a local retailer such as Tim's Music or Kline Music
Rent an instrument from an online retailer such as Music & Arts
Request a school instrument when you fill out the Band Sign-Up
Watch the Instructional Videos for your child's instrument with your child before the first day of band. I suggest watching each video at least 2 or 3 times to make sure no information is missed.
September 14–October 23: Beginners meet once per week by instrument, 8:00–8:45 a.m. Arrive 7:45–7:50 a.m. Advanced students join these classes October 5–23. Beginning October 26, Beginning Band meets Mondays and Thursdays; percussion meets Wednesdays. During weeks with a Monday holiday, Beginning Band meets Tuesday and Thursday, with no separate percussion day.
Monday: Flutes
Tuesday: Clarinets/Saxophones
Wednesday: Percussion
Thursday: Trumpets/French Horns
Friday: Trombones, Baritones/Euphoniums, and Electric Bass (bass starts September 25)
